Medal of Honor Winner 鈥?Tom Cruise. What did he get it for?

I heard on the E! channel the other night that Tom Cruise won the Freedom Medal of Valor. I know this is the highest honor that the military awards its heroes. What military battle did he fight in to receive this award? I know he gained a lot of air combat experience during his Top Gun filming. Did he fly Tomcat missions in Iraq that were classified by the government?Medal of Honor Winner 鈥?Tom Cruise. What did he get it for?
The Congressional Medal of Honor can only be awarded to military personnel. The medal Tom Cruise got was something else.

I have no idea why he was given a medal; but then I have no idea why he was listed among the 100 greatest Americans by the Discovery Channel a years ago.
Wrong, he did not receive the "Medal of Honor". The award he received was from his Scientolgy cult.

http://www.scientology.org/Medal of Honor Winner 鈥?Tom Cruise. What did he get it for?
You are completely wrong. The Congressional Medal of Honor is the highest military honor. The church of Scientology gave Tom Cruise a so called Freedom Medal of Valor for his service to his church. It has nothing to do with the military or government.
They are not the same thing. The Freedom Medal of Valor is NOT the Medal of Honor that is awarded to the military. His award was presented by the church of Scientology.Medal of Honor Winner 鈥?Tom Cruise. What did he get it for?
Tom Cruise HAS NEVER served in the United States Armed Forces and therefore DID NOT get

the Congressional Medal Of Honor, which is the Highest US Military Award that can be awarded to

any US Military Person.

The Freedom Medal of Valor is awarded to people who are with the Church of Scientology.

The reason for the medal is unknown to this person.
its not a military award; you should google it... it is the highest award for scientology.. tom cruise is an idiot and the award is stupid... it has nothing to do with the military or anything else... and scientology is a not even a religion.. imagine the pope holding a big black tie event to celebrate the priest who converted the most people to catholicism...
Take your medication.
Tom Cruise wasn't in the military and never won any medal

for valor.

He might have been awarded a medal for the silliest performance when he was Oprah's show.
Medal of Honor and Medal of Valor aren't the same I guess he got his medal for making movies or something.
Tom Cruise received the IAS Freedom Medal of Valor. It is given out by the International Association of Scientologists.

It has nothing to do with the Medal of Honor used to honor this nation's heroes.
I don't know what the "Freedom Medal of Valor" is... but it is NOT the Congressional Medal of Honor.
you have named two different Medals so which one did he get? never mind i know he didn't get the Medal of Honor.

What Game for the Wii would I be better off with? Medal of Honor heroes 2 or COD World at war?

i want to know based on online capabilities and enviroments, i dont always like dark and gloomy levels, i like brighter levels so i can see better. What Game for the Wii would I be better off with? Medal of Honor heroes 2 or COD World at war?
You have to break it down. MOHH2 is dying and fewer people play on it each day. Since Call of Duty came out, people buy that more, and there are more weapons, and a better storyline. When The Conduit comes out, MOHH2 will be a dead game.
COD:WAW because MOH:H2 is dead now, not that many people play it is strange because allot of people had buy-ed that game.

and found out the game is rubbish let me till you why it may have "32" player but yeah quantity over Quality. the highest I seen it go was about 1200 people but now it's like the high 400 there are hundreds of glitches, the hit detection is very horrid, had the game from week one, so don't say i suck. the character models suck as well as the animations. you well get stuck on walls most of the time. it gets jumpy here and there depending on the other people.

the only reason I and most others still play is because of the funny glitches. dont get MOH:H2 get COD:WAW What Game for the Wii would I be better off with? Medal of Honor heroes 2 or COD World at war?
I personally prefer CoD WaW. I love this game and everything about it :)
totaly call of duty. metal of honor has the worst graphics, + in cod u get a FLAMETHROWER. (that will become a noob tube)What Game for the Wii would I be better off with? Medal of Honor heroes 2 or COD World at war?

Is medal of honor still worth getting a this point?

Well even though medal of unit came out a long time ago I'm still really curious on playing it even though I already have black ops and my plan is that if I get to at least 10th prestige or 15th I'll go to medal of honor some questions I hav bout moh

鈥o a lot of people still play it on the 360

鈥hat is the ranking system like for example in black ops u level then u prestigeIs medal of honor still worth getting a this point?
Well online you have three classes; rifleman, spec ops, and sniper. You level up by using each class. Each class can only be leveled up by using it in online matches. There is no prestige because each class levels up independently. There are still plenty of people that play online including myself. The replay value of MoH campaign is so-so. I have not replayed it but I'm sure some people do. I recommend that if you have a few bucks to waste go for it. But if you're one of those that picks his games very carefully then don't.
sing up here to get free xbox360, ps3 points, itunes gift card, no joke!!!

You should probably be worrying more about paying attention in English class than playing a game.

Why is the medal of honor awarded after death so often?

Isent that what the purple heart is for?Why is the medal of honor awarded after death so often?
The medal of honor isn't awarded to everyone who dies, only those who "distinguish themselves conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his or her life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States." It has only been awarded 6 times in the war on terror and it is only a coincidence that all of them are posthumous.

The purple heart is awarded to any member of the u.s. military who is killed or wounded on duty.
While all the above answers are true,I just want to mention that many years ago there was an actor named Audie Murphy. While he was in the army,he received every medal the Army offered with only one exception, The Good Conduct Medal. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Why is the medal of honor awarded after death so often?
Because to do something to warrant a medal of honor usually requires doing something so ill advised that the average individual would never do it, or they have just defied orders on such a level that success in what they did would have defied all expectations.
The Medal of Honor is only awarded for extreme acts of bravery and gallantry. These are very dangerous, so often the person doing them is seriously injured or dies. Why is the medal of honor awarded after death so often?
    Purple heart is for injury.

Medal of honor can be awarded after death if the person died doing something honorable.
