What medal will the Navy Seals Who killed bin Laden most likely receive?

Everyone in my hometown in NJ is psyched this guy is dead. I was just wondering what type of medal/honor president Obama will most likely privately bestow upon these heroes. As a Marine wife, watching the news last night before it broke about Usama Bin Laden being killed was quite terrifying. Our base had been on full alert the whole day, we couldn't even get into the Commissary with showing our ID. All sub entrances to the Naval Hospital were blocked %26amp; people are being told to enter in only the main entrance where ID's were being checked and bags were being searched. It's the first time I've ever witnessed base being like that.



When my husband and I sat down for dinner and turned on the news we suspected that President Obama's speech was going to pertain to Libya, so we were both a little on edge..

I must admit when we heard about Bin Laden tears were brought to my eyes %26amp; I literally wanted to jump and scream lol!



My husband has been deployed %26amp; joined because of the Sept. 11 attacks so it was an emotional announcement for him as well.

The SEALs who got the bastard deserve the highest recognition in my eyes!

Historically the Silver Star/Distinguished Flying Cross is given for missions of this caliber. For the Son Tay Raid 83 Silver Stars were awarded to the 148 Special Forces Soldiers and Airmen who participated in the operation. All 80 Doolittle Raiders received the Distinguished Flying Cross for bombing Tokyo. 10 of 12 Special Forces Soldiers received Silver Stars for the battle in Shok Valley. 8 were awarded for Takur Ghar (Robert's Ridge) and 41 were given for the Battle of Mogadishu.What medal will the Navy Seals Who killed bin Laden most likely receive?
They were doing there job. They probably wont receive any medals, not that i don't think they should, but it is the truth. If any of them did not have their Combat Action RIbbon (CAR) (which i highly doubt), then they will receive that.

If I were them, I'd give up ANY award if they'd let me have public bragging rights as being the guy who popped one into his head.





Otherwise... a gold brick would be fine with me!
Navy Crosses all around - no Medals of Honor though all of those involved deserve one
